When we think of Malaysia in the future, what possibilities do we imagine? How might a hopeful vision for what lies ahead look? And, what needs to happen to get us there? This is the question we posed to 10 Malaysian creatives, on reimagining alternative futures for our country.
Project Future Malaysiaย features new literary and visual works across a range of genres and themes, by Malaysian creatives:ย Sharmilla Ganesan, Gema, Jaymee Goh, Ackash Kumar, Max Loh, Shamrizan, Kumerainthira Sivam; David C. E. Tneh, Yan Jing Tianย andย Wong Xiu Wei.
The project was created with the support of theย Chevening Alumni Fund and theย British High Commission Kuala Lumpur.
TEN MALAYSIAN WRITERS, ARTISTS AND CREATIVES were commissioned to reimagine and manifest better alternatives for Malaysiaโs future.
Byย exploring and addressing the themes and concerns of Malaysians,ย we are freed from our everyday assumptions about what is possible and toย imagine pathways forward to embrace bolder visions and hopeful possibilities for Malaysiaโs future. If you resonate with the vision of this project, we invite you to grow and support this project via collaborations and conversations.ย ย
